Recently we were introduced to a major power quality problem faced by M/s Kajaria Ceramics, one of India’s largest ceramic tile manufacturers. They were facing issues in the kiln of their largest plant located at Bhiwandi (Rajasthan). The gas valve of this kiln used to turn off whenever there was a power fluctuation in their 132KV Grid, leading to a SAG in their 415V power supply to the kiln.
Since neither the conventional servo stabilizer nor the OLTC technology could resolve this problem, so in order to avoid tripping they were forced to rely on the UPS option, even though they did not need any power back-up. This worked out to be an extremely expensive alternative because, apart from the high initial investment, battery maintenance and replacement was continuously draining out funds.
This was till the technical experts of TSi Power-India provided them a permanent cost-effective solution with their Static Power Conditioner based on PWM Regulation Technology.
As expected, TSi-VRP trials at their plant proved highly successful in controlling kiln stoppages and turned out to be the most cost-effective solution for their problem, at a fraction of their UPS based solution. Additionally, it proved to be a fit-and-forget solution too.
